Collection Information

Contact the Coag lab before drawing: 5-8604
Collect EIGHT 2.7 mL Blue top tubes filled to the line
Blue top tubes must be filled within 10% of stated volume. A discard tube must be used if a citrate tube is to be drawn using a winged blood collection set. It is important to remove air from the blood collection set to ensure the proper blood volume is obtained in the coag tube.
If the patient has a known hematocrit >55%, please contact the coagulation lab for an adjusted collection tube before drawing the blood.
Platelet Aggregations cannot be transported. Patient must be present at DH-Lebanon campus. DO NOT send through pneumatic tube system. Samples must be hand delivered, contact the Coag lab for pickup. Do not centrifuge.
Platelet Aggregations must be scheduled in advance. Contact the Hemophilia Center Secretary 603-650-6763.
Results will be summarized in a Pathologist interpretive report.
