Type and Screen samples must be appropriately labeled, must have a BLOOD LOCK CODE recorded on the tube, include a future surgical date, and must have collection information entered in Epic at the time of collection. Additional testing will be performed on unexpected results. This automated method cannot be done on specimens collected in microtainers.
