Lyme IgG & IgM
eDH Procedure Code(s)
LAB3623 Lyme IgG & IgM Antibody
Test Information
Qualitative detection of IgG and IgM class antibodies to VlsE1 and pepC10 antigens for Borrelia burgdorferi. CDC guidelines specify a two-step diagnostic approach. A screening ELISA should be performed first followed by a confirmatory testing.
Confirmation of positive or equivocal Lyme IgM/IgG antibody screen results will be performed using a second enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) which uses distinct Borrelia burgdorferi antigens from the initial screening ELISA.
