Collection Information
Minimum 10mL sample volume to be collected in sterile cup. Cannot use any preservative tube for UA EOS. Mid-stream clean catch preferred to minimize contaminants.
Specimen must be sent unpreserved. If preserved specimen sent for urinalysis, send separate sterile cup for urine eosinophil.
Samples can only be collected/submitted at the following labs due to limited specimen stability:
Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital and Cheshire Medical Center
Specimen must be delivered immediately to the hematology laboratory.
