FDA approved specimen types for this assay are cervical, vaginal, and urine (sensitivity: 95.3-100%, specificity: 95.2-100%).
Collection Information
Acceptable sources:
- Female: vaginal, cervical, urine
- Male: urine
For urine specimens, collect less than 30mL of first catch urine. Offsite clinics, transfer 2mL to the Aptima urine transport tube. Aptima swab and urine transport can be obtained from client response center.
Urine must be in transport within 24 hrs.
