- This is a qualitative test for the detection of VZV DNA present in cutaneous and mucocutaneous lesion swab samples from patients with signs and symptoms of VZV infection.
- CSF specimens – order VZV PCR, CSF [LAB3170]
- Sources other than cutaneous and mucocutaneous lesions will be sent to our reference lab for testing, order Miscellaneous Lab Request [LAB3715].
