Peripheral Slide Check

Important Note

Available to order for laboratory staff only. A reason for the request and copy of the CBC results must be submitted (refer to the Slide Check document in the resources section on this page). A DHMC lab tech will review the slide upon receipt to the DHMC Lebanon laboratory and will make changes and release results as appropriate. The slide will be sent for pathologist review if warranted.

Specimen Transport Temperature

Refrigerate.

Specimen must be received in the lab within 24 hours of draw.

Specimen Stability

Slides must be made within 24 hours.

Lavender 4 mL tube

Lavender 2 mL tube

Lavender Microtainer MAP Tube

Properly filled tube required.

 

The following must also be submitted:

A good quality Wright's stained peripheral blood smear

An unstained peripheral blood smear

A printed copy of the CBC results
