Acceptable sources;
Female: vaginal, cervical, urine
Male: urine
For urine specimens, collect less than 30mL of first catch urine. Offsite clinics, transfer 2mL to the Aptima urine transport tube. Aptima swab and urine transport can be obtained from client response center.
FDA approved specimen types for this assay are cervical and vaginal (sensitivity: 95.3-100%, specificity: 95.2-100%). Sensitivity and specificity for urine (male and female) has not been determined.
