The Opioid Confirmation Panel will temporarily be sent to Mayo Clinic Laboratories for their mass spectrometry-based assay that detects codeine, codeine-6-beta-glucuronide, morphine, morphine-6-beta-glucuronide, 6-monoacetylmorphine, hydrocodone, norhydrocodone, dihydrocodeine, hydromorphone, hydromorphone, oxycodone, noroxycodone, oxymorphone, oxymorphone-3-beta-glucuronide, noroxymorphone, fentanyl, norfentanyl, meperidine, normeperidine, naloxone, naloxone-3-beta-glucuronide, methadone, EDDP, propoxyphene, porpropoxyphene, tramadol, O-desmethyltramadol, tapentadol, N-desmethyltapentadol, tapentadol-beta-glucuronide, buprenorphine, norbuprenorphine, and norbuprenorphine glucuronide.

Additional Specimen Instructions

This testing panel includes

1. In house screens for amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, tricyclic antidepressants, ethanol and adulterants will be performed in the DHMC Chemistry Laboratory. Any presumptive positive result will automatically trigger a confirmation add on order that will be sent for confirmatory testing at an additional charge.

 

2. In addition, a quantitative opioid panel for the following 19 compounds will be performed via liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry in the DHMC Chemistry Laboratory:   morphine, oxymorphone, hydromorphone, dihydrocodeine, naloxone, codeine, noroxycodone, oxycodone, 6-MAM, norhydrocodone, O-desmethyltramadol, hydrocodone, norfentanyl, tramadol, Norbuprenorphine, fentanyl, buprenorphine, EDDP+, and methadone.

 

This urine drugs of abuse screen WILL NOT detect the use of Methylphenidate(Ritalin/Concerta). To monitor compliance or serrupticious use, please order urine testing for Methylphenidate, eDH LAB3901.
