Additional Specimen Instructions

If a specimen contains anti-thyroglobulin antibody, Thyroglobulin cannot be accurately measured by the DHMC Chemistry immunoassay method. In this case an order for thyroglobulin measurement by mass spectrometry (Thyroglobulin by LC-MS/MS, ARUP test 2006550) must be ordered using the Misc Lab Request (LAB3715) order. Serum from a red top tube is also acceptable (per ARUP).
