Do not use a calcium alginate swabs.
This is a qualitative test for the detection of VZV DNA present in cutaneous and mucocutaneous
lesion swab samples from patients with signs and symptoms of VZV infection.
Sources other than cutaneous and mucocutaneous lesions will be sent to our reference lab for testing.
