CD8 ABS |
This assay is a “dual platform” determination. The percentage of lymphocytes bearing the CD3, CD4, CD8, CD19 and CD16&56 antigens is determined using flow cytometry immunophenotyping. The absolute count of the individual lymphocyte subsets is determined by multiplying the percentages by the absolute lymphocyte count obtained for the concurrent CBC. The reference ranges are established by the manufacturer. Subjects were hematologically normal adults between the ages of 19 and 80 years in the study to determine the reference intervals for the BD FACSLyric flow cytometer. For individuals less than 16 pediatric reference ranges are derived from the literature [Journal of Pediatrics 1997 Mar;130(3):388-393]. |
