collection.

Additional Specimen Instructions
Note: specimen should be drawn without using a tourniquet into a
chilled EDTA tube. If tourniquet must be used to locate a vein,
remove tourniquet and wait at least 15 seconds before Ammonia
specimen is obtained. Specimen should be mixed (4-5 times), placed
on ice, and delivered to lab immediately. Specimen must be
centrifuged within 15 minutes of collection. Separate plasma and
analyze immediately or freeze.
Note: heparinized plasma is not acceptable for this assay.
Note: microtainers are acceptable only if drawn from a line.
Note: finger and heel sticks are not acceptable.
