Additional Specimen Instructions

Cultures are held for a minimum of 3 days.

If additional test are order (ex. PCR) send additional sepcimen.

Minimum volum 2mL, tube #2 is preferred. 

This order is for aerobic bacterial culture. If other cultures are desired, AFB or fungus, send additional specimen for each test request.
CNS shunt specimens are a separate orderable (LAB 3018) as they are set up differently from routine CNS cultures.
