Additional Specimen Instructions

Neonatal type and screens are drawn in 3 EDTA (pink/lavender top) microtainers. 

The three microtainers must be:

• Appropriately labeled with patient information.
• Have a BLOOD LOCK CODE recorded on each microtainer.
• Be accompanied by a requisition slip containing a legible name of the staff member and the date/time of collection.
