CRP High Sens | For cardiac risk assessment two values (fasting or nonfasting sample acceptable) taken at least 2 weeks apart should be averaged to provide a more reliable estimate of marker level. This laboratory will be using the recommendations from the AHA/CDC Scientific Statement for interpretations of future risks of cardiovascular events: <1.0 mg/L: low risk 1.0 to 3.0 mg/L: moderate risk >3.0 mg/L: high risk >10.0 mg/L: Acute Inflammation Note: CRP values >10 mg/L indicate an acute inflammatory condition or infection. The >10 mg/L value should not be used for cardiac risk assessment and a repeat specimen should be collected at least two weeks after resolution of the acute inflammatory condition. References: 1.
