Additional Specimen Instructions
Specimen should be drawn without using a tourniquet into a chilled gray top tube. If tourniquet must be used to locate a vein, 1-2 minutes must elapse after release of tourniquet before blood is collected.
Specimen should be mixed (4-5 times) and sent to the lab immediately. Specimen must be centrifuged within 15 minutes of collection, separate plasma and refrigerate.
