Additional Specimen Instructions
Stool must be received in orange para-pak vial filled to the line (do not overfill). Stool culture on patients in house >3 days requires pathology approval.
Routine culture screens for Salmonella sp., Shiga toxin, Shigella sp., Campylobacter antigen, E. coli 0157, Yersinia sp., Aeromonas sp., and Plesiomonas sp. For Vibrio or other organisms, specify on requisition.
