Specimen Transport Temperature
Ship at room temperature in transport media.
Specimen Stability
Refrigerate until shipping. Do not freeze or place in formalin.
Additional Specimen Instructions
Obtain all specimens under sterile conditions. Collect in RPMI media, MCCOY`S media, Ringer`s Lactate or Saline (in order of decreasing preference). Please provide 0.5mg for skin biopsy, fetal tissue, and placental tissue. Instances, where fetal tissue has not been recovered for 48-72 hrs, post fetal demise, placental tissue is preferred instead.
