Specimen Collection Information

First collect 2 ml and place into EDTA tube and label as #1. Then collect 8-10 ml and evenly divide into two 4ml Lavender Tubes and one 4 ml Green NaHep tube. AP 10% Formalin Bottle used for Bone Marrow Core Biopsy. Make sure formalin cup lid is not leaking. Place all samples in biohazard transport bag. Optimal: Received in lab within 1 hour from procurement. Notify Hematology lab (650-7176) that sample has been collected and is in transport.

If sending a Bone Marrow Panel from outside of the DH-H network please complete bone marrow requisition and include it with the specimen. A link to the requisition can be found under the Resources section on this page.
