Additional Testing Information
Purpose:
To determine primary muscle disease, neuromuscular disease, inflammatory muscle disease, and malignant hyperthermia.
Test performed:
Light microscopy, including fiber typing and histochemical analysis. Electron microscopy, when indicated. Preparation: Place tissue on saline soaked gauze in a sterile container.
Non-Lebanon Campus or Outreach Clients: Schedule STAT courier to transport specimen to DHMC. Maintain specimen on wet ice.
