Test Information
This test is offered daily:
- Monday – Friday cutoff is 6:30 pm. Specimens received after this time will be run the next day.
- Saturday & Sunday cutoff is 12:00 pm. Specimens received after this time will be run the next day.
Collection Information
Expectorated and/or induced sputum specimens are the only acceptable specimens for this assay. The absolute minimum volume is 2 mL (more is preferred).
All other sources need to be ordered as Miscellaneous Lab Request [LAB3715] with specific source in order comments. This will be sent to reference lab for testing.
