Refrigerate the gold SST tubes
The Sodium Citrate tubes (blue tops) should be double spun and the plasma frozen.
Additional Specimen Instructions
2.7 mL Sodium Citrate tube filled to the line
AND
5 mL Gold SST
Collect two 2.7 mL Sodium Citrate tubes
Blue top tubes must be filled within 10% of stated volume. A discard tube must be used if a citrate tube is to be drawn using a winged blood collection set. It is important to remove air from the blood collection set to ensure the proper blood volume is obtained in the coag tube.
If the patient has a known hematocrit >55%, please contact the coagulation lab for an adjusted collection tube before drawing the blood.

Additional Testing Information
The antiphospholipid panel is used by rheumatologists, hematologists and other clinicians to screen high risk patients for clotting risk associated with antiphospholipid antibodies. Tests included are PT, PTT, TT, DRVVT, SCT, Anticardiolipin antibodies and Beta-2-glycoprotein-1. Results will be summarized in a pathologist interpretive report. Available in eD-H. Complete testing may take up to 10 days to complete, depending on day of specimen receipt.
