Additional Specimen Instructions

 In accordance with CDC guidelines for Lyme testing, a screening ELISA will be performed prior to confirmation. Confirmation of all presumptive positive Lyme IgM/IgG antibody screen results will be performed using a second enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) which uses distinct Borrelia  antigens from the initial screening ELISA.
