Peripheral Smear Review

Important Note

Manual WBC differentials are initiated by laboratory only, based on CBC results.

A Provider may request that a peripherial blood smear and CBC results be reviewed by a hematopathologist, with an interpretive report. A reason for the smear review must be submitted with the request. Requests will be evaluated against established criteria before submitting to pathologist.
